About Reel Cinema Entertainment, LLC... John Swon, Doug Aamoth, Marcus Edward. We're called Reel Cinema Entertainment, LLC. We're an LLC because we're tiny. We're talking really small, under ten employees thus far. But don't let that fool you. We are absolutely the best in Minnesota when it comes to independent cinema. We don't like the Hollywood hype. We don't do unions. We work twenty hour days sometimes. We drive our own cars and buy our own food. We started this all a long time ago. John did, at least. He's the brainchild behind the company. He's been making movies since he was five years old. I saw one. It kind of sucked, but hey, he was five. To his credit, John's a brilliant writer, director, and producer. Kind of reminds me of a young George Lucas, except not as geeky. John's got the creative aspect of Reel Cinema wrapped around his pinky-toe. I'm Doug, the web design geek. I handle a lot of the marketing aspects of the company. I get to act in the films, which is my favorite part of the job. Except that John says if I don't take acting lessons soon, I'll be forever type-cast into idiot roles like I was in Jerome's Razor, where I played Denny (an idiot). Marcus runs the show in L.A. That's Los Angeles for all you other Minnesotans. He's got the hook-ups, connections, ins, what-have-you. He's been the big star in our first two movies, peter and Jerome's Razor. He was in the movie Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck. He's goooood. None of us get paid (yet). We all take equity in the company and leave the investors' money alone. We're all either in school, or work other jobs. We'd love to do this full time and are planning to go nuts with it in the fall of 2001, when we'll have three feature length films already under our belts. Three of em! Doug graduated from the University of Puget Sound majoring in International Political Economy, a mixture of economics, business, international relations and sociology. The Cohen Brothers, creators of Fargo, are from Minnesota. FACTOID The name of Reel Cinema's next movie is Paradise, which was filmed in August of 2001.
